They are setting type, both from cold lead type (or more likely characters, since it's Chinese) in type drawers and one worker is using an old Linotype machine to set hot lead type. Other workers are using the set type formes to print using letterpresses, and still others are breaking the used formes down to replace the type back into the job cases.
